VMG reduces loading time and manual handling in wood product logistics

VMG Lignum Construction, part of VMG Group, produces sustainable engineered wood products including LVL (laminated veneer lumber), I-JOIST beams, and structural particleboard for construction projects across Europe, the USA, and Australia.

Operating from a 29,000 m² facility in Naujoji Akmenė, Lithuania, the company employs over 200 people and focuses on innovative, climate-friendly building solutions.

With approximately 20 containers of large engineered wood products shipped each month, VMG looked for a safer and more efficient way to optimize its loading process.

Loading challenges

VMG's primary challenge was the scale of its wood products – most exceeding 12 meters in length. Handling pieces this size made efficient truck and container loading extremely difficult.
